Found this critter on a bush outside while ago. To me, the pic looks like it's been photoshoped, like the moth was edited onto the bush, colors look "fake". It's not though, 100% how I took the pic. I resized it to make it smaller, but that's it.

Holy shit, I've never seen a moth like that in real life. You're a lucky man.

That's pretty kick ass, is it a moth or a butterfly? And they have crazy things like that in Georgia?

Looks like his back wing took a little damage though. Reminds me of something from some movie or game, but can't remember what right now. Cool photo.

A moth. They're pretty rare to find inside the city, but get out in the country and those kinda moths aren't all that rare. At night they'll come around if you have a bright spotlight outside your house attracting them.

Luna moths. Very pretty. Never seen one, but I did spot a few of their close relatives that are native to MI. It's fairly astounding to see a 6 inch moth for the first time.

VERY nice picture of that moth. I think its a Luna Moth? Interesting camoflauge fake eyes on the wings!

Here are a few interesting insects I found late summer of last year, in a "farm house" a little bit out of this main area:

The first is a moth that was under a light near the front door at night, the second is a big beetle that got into the house (the resident cat was fascinated with the beetle, I had to take the bug away and let him go outside before she attacked it!).

[waits for Boog to quote Liquid Snake's pic]

Very cool pic though. I've seen the big-ass moths before that look almost like smal birds, but never one of those. Great photo.

Nature is so beautiful sometimes. I am overcome. :crying:

And Abasuto, that's a really great shot you got there. It could go into an insect picture book or something, very nice.

Abasuto-

First of all, that is an amazing shot of nature.

Second of all... do consider searching on the net for amateur photography sites that take photos. Years back, I took a pic of my father's kitten cowering over a baby field mouse, entered it into some photography book website. It got published in that very book, and I bought a copy for my father later that year.

Just a thought...

Olympus D-425 (4MP).

The bush it was on was right under a yellowish looking like light that stays on 24/7 on the sides of my appartments parking entrance ( high pressure sodium bulb ). It was also grey outside from full thin overcast. I'm sure those two factors had alot to do with the colors coming out ackward.
