Hi guys and girls,

Question.

I've read the FAQ here about making your NGH system play MVS versions using a debug chip, because you just need to set a few bits as the home and arcade ROM set is one and the same thing.

Can you also make an MVS access the home version features and, if so, how?
I have a MVS 1-slot and MVS cartridges, no NGH stuff at all.

Is this a bios/chip swap thing too?

Cheers.

Sure, just get the unibios. Member Razoola here has written it.

Unibios also lets you change regions, check for bad roms, jukebox, lots of neat stuff.

What is the Jukebox option?

Sorry, that's a very American term. Jukebox is an option that allows you to listen to the music and sounds in the game.

A Jukebox is like a large radio found in bars, restaurants and other public places. They play music over a large area when a coin is inserted. Inside, they have many Cds, records ect.

So you can play music and sounds like with the PC app NeoJukebox, right? Wicked.
How does the bios come, is it on a chip that I can just remove the current one and replace this with, or does it require a bit of soldering work?

Check on your PCB.

IF there is a Socketed chip (SP1), that's the bios.

Only the really tiny one slots have a soldered bios.

Most MVS 1 slots don't have a soldered bios. Many just pop out, you'll only need a screwdriver to remove the old one and simply press in the new one.

If you have a MV1b you'll need to solder it in.

No, mine is socketed, I have a mini-1-slot FZ or something like that.
What I mean about soldering is are there any additional wires, or do you literally just drop the chip in in place of the old one?
And I access it by turning dip 1 on on the PCB as usual?

Simply replace the chip, that is all. Accessing the unibios features only requires you to hold buttons ABC on startup. Accessing the settings (normally accessed by dip 1) requires holding buttons BCD on startup.

Does Unibios require you to use the select at any time like Debug bios?
Edit: Nevermind I found what I was looking for.
