I'm just looking for general information about the manga/anime. When and in what was it published, that kind of thing. Can anyone help me out? Google searches haven't really brought anything useful up.

http://www.akira2019.com/ looks promising, but it seems like there's not much info there yet.

http://www.bbakira.co.uk/prodreport/prodrep.htm has some good stuff about the movie production.

Short Otomo bio here: http://www.eofftv.com/names/o/oto/otomo_katsuhiro_main.htm

Here are cover scans of most of the Young Magazines that the manga was originally serialized in. The pages are in Japanese but you can get the dates at least.

not fansites, but for general info/dates:

dark horse vol. 1-6 pages.

and the wiki entry

Hope there's something useful at least. There's got to be better shit out there though.

I bought the Akira Symphonic Suite cd the other day, I really like it. One of the more bizarre soundtracks out there.

I'd like to get the Dark Horse published manga, but it's kind of expensive.

If you can read Japanese.

I can't read japanese and it's still the most interesting site of the bunch.
Then again, I know everything under the sun about akira, and only visit ad2019 because of the bizarre merchandise and fan-service that pops up every once in a while.

I'd like to see some pics of merchandise you might have if you have them. I remember you saying you had a large collection of various Akira stuff.

I'm telling you right now, it's really OK if you want to sell me Psychoball back.
I'll honor it, no trouble at all. I'm good like that. ;)

come now

price tag shouldn't dictate game quality

soooo . . .

I'm being facetious, it's actually really fucking cool.
I sold it in an economically challenging moment earlier in my career as a
second-hand game merchant, now I've moved on, got more cash, and I must remain without it. Such is life.

It's a decent game.
Take that as you will, considering I'm such a big akira fan.

:crying:

I thought the production report site was kind of interesting, especially if one hasn't seen the documentary.
