Just thought of a fun off the wall topic.

Just got back into Mountain bikes (something I have always liked doing) and thought I would share pics of my bike and get to know other mountian bikers.

Bike is an Ellsworth Joker. It is a Downhill/All Mountain.

This bike is entirely custom built. I bought all the parts and brought them to a shop to assemble it. This was a project since October of 2004.

Components include..

RaceFace cranks, chainrings, bottom bracket

Woodman Spikey platform pedals (yes those are spikes you see on the pedals)

Dangerboy stem(Howitzer), bashguard (BuzzSaw)

Manitou 5"-6"travel Black Elite

Fox proPedal w/Rear lock out rear shock

Mavix XC117 wheels (soon to be built AtomLab Trail Pimps with DH hubs)

Shimano XT rear 9spd gears and Xt front derailuer

Panaracer Fire FR 2.4 tires front and back

Azonic Chubby 28.6mm riser bars

Kore Elite seat post

Titec Ithys Amore seat

FSA Pig head set

Hayes cable disc brakes 6'front 8" rear

Sram X7 shifers and rear derailuer

Hope skerwers for seat post, hubs, and Hope bar ends

IRD Black Lighting chain

Well enjoy and certainly post what you have or post your comments.

Thanks Beatnik, and I must say thats a pretty hooked up cruiser you got. Nice and light I bet?

That was a good idea about posting all bikes. Heck why not?

Lets keep those pics and descriptions coming.

What are some good brands of mountain bikes?

Well it depends on what you are going to ride?

And what are you looking to spend?

Do you want a custom built bike from the frame up, or a complete store bought bike?

It is obvious that I like Ellsworth. They are mainly bought as a frame build but some stores carry them as a complete bike. Mainly custom shops.

And I won't get into why I think Ellsworths are great. We'll stick to the question at hand and narrow things down a bit.

Santa Cruz is another good frame build as well as (but can be found as built bikes also)...

Intense is good quality also

Pre built I would consider Kona, Speacialized, Marin, Turner (turner can be bought as frame only also).

However it really all depends on your riding intensions and money you want to spend.

Build a bike like mine and you are getting in the $3k-4k range (and yes you can buy a car for that).

Tell me what you want to ride, and what you want to spend and I can guide you accordingly.

Hope I could help out a little?

It was stolen while I was taking a shower trying to track down a Client.
Girl tried to make me pay for the shower.

It is silver and has an etch mark on the back of it.

Please help me. IF i dont find it, I will cry like a baby.

Its not a mountain bike, but I have a Schwinn something or other. Its one of their all around models. I can never find the model I have on their site though.

Something like that one.

Except I tricked it out with a basket on the front.

Im looking for a milk crate to stick on the back and when I get around to it Im going to put on a bell.

I thought about doing that, but decided it would get annoying.

I am contemplating one of those cool flags on the really long poles that like scrape the ground though.
