I want to buy a Kick harness to wire myself which i think is 34pin female
Questions:
what is size of the pin in inches or millimeters, etc. or if it has a generic name
sites where i can buy such a connector with pins (separate, not wired).

You are looking for a 48 pin 2.54 mm pitch connector.

type: DDK 225D-10024C2-2312

(at least that's what i have i front of me, connected to a Soul Edge board)....

a generic name....try 'edge connector'

Soul edge is made by namco, i doubt its a cps ii board but they may use same connector type...since the harness is inserted i could slice off the extra slots

ok, found item on digikey.com catalog pdf. H3824-ND....i think it says that it does NOT come with contacts...do i get the ID or Crimp style, it seems like it should be crimp

EDIT: http://dkc3.digikey.com/PDF/T052/0075.pdf

I do want the connector to be female right? This assumes the CPS2 board has pins poking out at front. I haven't gotten the CPS2 board yet, but i wanted to wrap up all of my wiring and soldering now, so when i get the new boards it will be all set to go

Your just trying to build a Harness????

Well you'd probably be better off just buying a CPSII harness off of Bob Roberts or Ebay.

Would save you time and money.
