That's 9$ too much for CFE.

CFE is barely worth 10 bucks

it's like a fan made hack job, free shareware, etc.

I'd still think twice before buying it

I thought the game had a reasonably large tourney following. At least, I've seen a lot of match vids for it. I suppose that could end pretty quick, but people seem to take it more seriously than SvC: Chaos.

With the XBL version coming out in a week or so, there's really no reason to buy this.

If you're talking about the Japanese scene, that's just because it was a game played at SBO. Supposedly, all of the top players hated it and have stopped playing it now that SBO is over.

it's embarrassing that what could very well be the last Capcom released 2D fighting game, turns into unadultered crap

I don't even think Playmore did that bad

I think SVC is a decent game to fuck around with when you're bored, too bad I can't say the same for CFE

Capcom Fighting Evolution really made me sad. Not so much the game's content, but it just tells you how far Capcom has fallen since Third Strike as far as 2D goes.

Meh, if it's only 10 bucks, I'll probably pick it up just to add another 2D fighter to my PS2 games.

I rented it and burned it without playing it first, I returned both the original and my burned copy to Blockbuster the following day

I bought this game, played it for about 15 minutes, and then pretty much forgot that it existed. I got kinda psyched about it when I saw a combo vid for it, but the game just reeks. I feel like I probably just bought it to have it - why in the hell would I play it when I could be playing third strike?

Are you sure it was $9.99 everywhere? I'm not doubting you got it for that much, but on the website it's still $20. Can anyone confirm they also have it for $9.99 at their Wally World?

You might have to go out to your local walmart to check. I've noticed that sometimes the prices in the store are actually cheaper then on the website. I believe this was the case for xbox controllers. They were a bit cheaper in the store then on the site.

Well, not quite. I have to admit that the main reason I bought this game was because they brought back Karin Kanzuki. She's probably my favorite character in SF Alpha 3.

But I was extremely disappointed at the shallowness of Capcom Fighting Evolution.

I've only had one session with it, back when it first came to PS2, but I liked it. I thought it was plenty fun, and I like some of the matchups. I haven't had any trouble waiting for Xbox version, though.

Well, I did a little research, and from what I can see, it's not $10. I called up every store in my city (all 7 of them) and all of them had it for $29.99. I also checked the website and it also said $29.99. So my question is this: how did you somehow get it for $10 when Wal-Mart is a national chain of stores with prices the same nationwide? I figured your store was having some sort of special, but if you could scan in a copy of the reciept, that would be great. The Wal-marts I talked to said they would give me it for $10 if I have some sort of proof. So if you could shed some light on this situation, that would be great.

Well, for a start, I have fun with making a Parry champ's life miserable with the Vampire charas in CJF! :D

Other than that, it's all about Rose, Guile and the chopped version of Urien for me... the game comes in handy for a bit of casual 2P action inbetween two rounds of KoF or Samsho because for me and my buddy Stefan, it has an almost "recreational" aspect, kinda like SvC and its wobbly out-of-sync engine which nevertheless can be fun if you forget about anal details for a while and simply push some buttons... ;)

Presentation, music and some ideas (two-on-two, etc.) are quite nice, but most backgrounds suck, as well as some chara anims.

Overall, CFJ is not a game I'd buy again for the regular price, but IMO, the $10 price tag makes it a good deal for a bit of 2D fighting action every now and then. Yeah, there are much better games, but it doesn't have to be steak all the time, sometimes I'm content with just a slice of bread and butter, y'know...

We know.

After all, you like World Heroes.

heh

Actually you're right, I have the same feelings about the WH series. For me, the WH games are just fun, that's it. Playing CFJ or a WH game is like sitting there and squeezing bubble wraps for half an hour while watching TV, which basically is yet another way to waste time, but a fun one. :)

No dude, I was just kidding.

I may hate WH, but I can tell that a lot more love went into making that series than CFJ, so playing that would be much less of a waste of time. If that makes any sense.

Ugh.

I think I just inadvertently complimented World Heroes.
