I've tried my cart on a consolized 2 slot, supergun (1 slot) and 1 or 2 of my cabinets and every now and again (i'm talking once every hour of play). The sound volume will lower for no reason at all and then it will settle at normal volume again.

It cannot be the hardware, so it must be the cart or the game itself.

Is this a common fault or just isolated to myself :D

No other carts seem to have this problem... YET!

Thanks again.

(1) clean the connector
(2) open that bad boy up and make sure it's not a boot (post pics here if unsure)

that is all.

I'm not sure if Bust a move again EX is the same as Bust a move again .
But in the link below contains boards picks from my Bust a move again for comparison..

When I first got Bust a move again.. I put it in the candy Cab "without"cleaning the carts contacts as I usually do..
My wife was playing it for about 30 Minutes with no problems..then I heard a part of the game go slightly louder..It was quick and was a full noise of one of the characters as if they had just yelled louder..
My wife asked if the game is like that..IMO=No..So I sat there while she played waiting for it to happen and dying to open the cart in search or a problem/repair since I figured 95% it wasn't a boot.
When she stopped playing I took it out and opened it (without creasing the label)..and found out it's legit and I don't think it was used much as I couldn't find any scratches on the connectors..they were just like NEW kits carts connectors.(Very Yellow)

I cleaned the connectors and the next day she played the cart for over an hour with no problems,no change in sound.

I think you have a dirty cart connector, connection issue..
