hours from any item shop, deep down in a castle you can't get in or out of without losing all your fecking items anyway

I get to lord grodus, after 4 attempts I beat the motherfucker, god that was hard, 12 health left, then bowser and a cronie come through the roof, and just kill me basically straight away, bowser even laughed about how I was still weak from the last battle.

this game has been fine until the end, and now its just stupidly motherfucking hard, I fail to see how "Joe Public" (a 4year old average cube owner/gamer) could complete this, or metroid bloody prime in that matter., kids machine? pfft..

LMAO. Those two were actually pretty easy compared to the last boss, who WILL be a real bitch.

It's not all that far from the item shop though, well it is, but once you get through most of it, you'll get those health sations that cost like 10 or 12 coins, and you can save and then get out of the door and go back to town to either go level up or hit an item shop.

We beat the part your at, but had to go back a bunch of times so we could actually beat the last boss, and if you're having trouble with where you're at you're probably going to need to level up some before you take on the big one.

sigh

but bowser doesnt even give you a chance to get out and save or get items

what fucking stupid game design, ruined the past 45 hours of fun for me.

I mean the stupid 20 wrestling style fights was dull. . but jesus

(sigh)

so basically I gotta walk like hell back through the massive castle, the other castle outside it, back all the way to the stupidfuckingtown, then get some items, and lose all of them getting back to lord grodus? JESUS

I'm level 27 by the way. and have no items at all. god I rock

75 HP (70 + 5 which is a badge) 45 FP, 20something BP

thats ok right? GEH

Oh quit your bitching and go level up. PM2 was the first RPG I've played in a long while and I had no trouble really until the very last boss. Even that fight was just a matter of adjusting my strategy a bit. Actually, I almost never used items in that game. I have so many stored up it's stupid, I'll probably never use them unless I decide one day to go after Bonetail.

The HP sounds right, assuming you also bumped up your FP and SP as well.

You are doing the big attacks like the super jump where you can inflict tons of damage if you time the A button right? You should be doing that for like every turn. You're going to need a ton of FP for this.

Also, did you upgrade your helper characters? I think the goomba chick has a healing spell and she can do the uber jump thing as well for big damage. Bombery is also really good to keep out most of the time, but I can't remember exactly why since it's been a while since I played the game. But if you have him at full strength I remember that you want to put him first in line and have him tank away at the HP that they deal to you.

Sorry I can't remember more, but I tend to forget stuff like that a few months after beating an RPG.

thanks :)

yeah all my teams upgraded. and I guess I'll just have to level up and finish all the 'troubles' first (translation : backtrack around everywhere you've already been), sigh

I was enjoying it a lot more before this part, but meh I'll finish it.

I'm not sure I can be bothered with the 100 level challenge though.. meh.. just seems a bit pointless side quest to me.. wait! I could level up in there!

Is it worth playing paper mario 2 without touching paper mario 1? (PM1 goes for stupid prices last time I checked)

Yea Bobbery is the shiz, I love that huge blast thing he does. Make sure you get all the stylish moves you can in too, those star points really add up quickly at the end of the game. Don't forget about the shadow chick either, she's awesome when you have to play defensively.

Personally, I don't think I did any of the troubles. I got about a little more than halfway through the 100 level dungeon when I got bored and gave up. My friend's borrowing it now so I couldn't even tell you what level I'm at/badges I'm using.

Just remember that badges are your friend.

@madmanjock - I played PM2 without touching PM1, I don't feel like I've missed a beat.

I just wanted to chime in and say the wrestler part was one of my favorites, actually.

I just wanted to chime in to say I finished the game in under 35 hours, hardly did any of the troubles, only 10 levels of the 100-level dungeon, and beat the final boss on my first attempt. :p

Uhhh, only help I can give is to remember to use stuff like 'Sweet Treat' when things start getting tight, and go nuts on the FP abilities as I think you can totally heal after the Bowser battle. (Assuming you have a handfull of gold coins spare.)

This game was weird for me. First 4 days I had it, I played it and couldn't put it down. I think I played it for like 6-7 hours straight the first day. Then, when I got to the train part, I just got bored and sick of talking to everyone and not advancing the story, so I quit.

you know what - I get that often with titles - but I think 'damn I've spent good money on this I will finish it' - or just finally give up and sell/trade it.
