This has been one of the few movie, as of late, that I actually wanted to go out and see. My fiance and I saw it and it was good to say the least. I never got the Chance to see "Master and Commander", but I heard it wasn't so good. Crowe did a great job in the main role and the rest of the cast fleshed the story out really well. Also, the fighting was very well done. Camera angles were nicely pulled off and it worked all very well together. If you want to see a great boxing movie, or good movie in general, check it out. It's worth the BS prices of theatre tickets these days.

Crowe usually makes me impotent, but I would actually like to see this one. Was it a film about a certain boxer, or just a made up story or what?

Master and Commander was one of the best movies of that year, IMHO.

I'm quite interested in seeing Cinderella Man, although i can't stand Zellweger. And also Ron Howard has a tendency to make overtly "emotional" movies that just irritate me.

But i'm staying openminded... Cos it looks like Crowe is giving another strong performance. The man maybe a bastard, but at least he's a talented bastard.

It's a true story. The title is an analogy about the boxer himself. He was a has been that comes back to glory. It's set in the depression and he's a normal joe trying to make ends meet when the opportunity comes for him to get bac in the ring and have the comeback of the lifetime. So, a paper dubs him "Conderella Man", hence the title.
