Every one knows this is one of the best obscure fighters to grace the Saturn and since it came out near the end Days of 32 bit gaming it was in short supply .

Ported only to the Saturn because its original arcade hardware was the STV this great fighter by SUNSOFT looks like it belongs on the neo with its brother WAKU WAKU 7 .

This game has been pretty much unseen in the past few years , but lately its showing up on ebay and with a VENGANCE !

I am glad that I bought mine when it was a fledgling and I dont have to deal with this mess the prices are insane!

here is a PRIME example :

Hey Retro, nice to see you again. Wow. Such an old face!

As for Astra, it's good... but IMO isn't the greatest fighter on Saturn. Greatest Sunsoft fighter? Yes. It wipes the pants off Waku Waku 7 and Galaxy Fight.

Only a fool would pay 300 bucks for ASS, I know it's sealed but I repeat ONLY A FOOL WOULD PLUNK 300 FOR ASTRA.

Sadly it does fetch around that 80-100 neighborhood. But for almost as zany and wild a fighter that is as good (IMHO of course) if NOT actually better, try Asuka 120% Burning Festival Limited. That game is under the $50 mark so it's a lot cheaper too, and more common.

I got Astra late (Jan. 2004) but lucked out with a copy that only ran me $65. (JAMES WILSON IS GOD!!!) :p Overall I like it, just not crazy about it. Sorry not for sale either. :make_fac:

Its ok, but because of its lack of moces ( each character had 2 supers, no specials ) it got boring real quick, the only novelty is that you were flying.

It looked and animated real nice ( STV one did anyhow ) and some great BG's and Music but like i said just got boring way to fast.

Waku Waku 7 is a much much better game, even though you can't really compare the two.

Yeah, that's a pretty typical Akihabara price.

I agree. I remember my friend bought it for 70 dollars at an import shop right when it was released. He sold it back the next day. We liked it, but the game play was just a little too shallow.

Waku Waku 7 is fun, but galaxy fight.. yeah, makes me wanna stab my face.

I like Galaxy fight for its quirkiness . It was a bold leap of faith for sunsoft and perhaps it was a failure as far as popularity is concerned ...but the game is very well put together and is a flawless fighter nonetheless .

I quite enjoyed GF too. I liked how the stages kept going on and on. It eliminated corner traps. Some good designs, but some bad ones too. It was a hit-or-miss fighter in a lot of ways.

I recall GameFan quite liking it... well, one reviewer who gave it an 89. The other two were in the 70's. The guy who gave it an 89 said "To me fighters don't get much better than this."

You draw your own conclusions...
