He likes first person and third person shooters with a good multiplayer experience (especially offline with bots). Suggest mostly anything, though. He'd especially like something with good replay value (especially in the multiplayer aspect). He has:
Katamari Damacy
KOF 2K/2K1
Zone of Enders: Second Runner
Midway Arcade Treasures
Timesplitters: Future Perfect
Street Fighter Anniversary Collection
(edit: oh he also has Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven)

Thanks in advance!

I was about to say Timesplitters until I saw he has Future Perfect...ummm...damn I hate to sound like a broken recored but he might love God of War. And it has replay on the higher difficulties. Even though I think it might be $44 used.

Are you sure Kingdom Hearts wouldn't be more suitable as a rental?

Nah, it takes a while to get through if you want to get everthing unlocked. Ive put in 17 hours on this save so far (which is along time since I forgot what to do early on).

I haven't even played it yet, but maybe Killzone. It's still over $40 around here, but I've heard it's cheap in other parts of the country.

Transformers "Armada", the game is really a first person shooter that allows you to switch between 3rd, 1st, and vehicle modes. It can be found now for $19.99 NOS.

Metal Slug 4/5
Guilty Gear X2

Wow, here ANY game could be had for $40 used and I mean Canadian dollars:

God Of War $40
Killzone $30
Devil May Cry 3 $40
Goldeneye $35
NFS U2 $30

Really, you name it.

Bur since he likes multiplayer, his options on PS2 are limited. I could suggest monstrous list from either XBOX or Gamecube, especially in the FPS category.

Thanks the suggestions so far. Multiplayer doesn't necessarily mean millions of players, just the ability for two people to play the game on one console, like in a versus match or something like that.

I could think of worse than a used copy of Cold Winter. It's a really solid FPS (rare on PS2!) with a very intelligent story and some impressive carnage.

Over here, the EB rapefest tactics are pretty standard. Sell a game for full price, let the customer wipe their ass with it, give them 5% of it's value, and then charge him 95% for a shitty copy.

Personally, I'd never pay more than $20 for a used next-gen game.

Multiplayer in that game has slowdown or a choppy framerate, right? Is it worse than it is in Killzone? Does it have bots?

Try Cold Winter, it is a pretty decent FPS.

EDIT: Oops, I see someone already mentioned it!

I'm playing a coo game right now called Blood Will Tell. It's based on a Japanese Manga about a child who loses his internal organs and various bodyparts (48 parts in total), to demons in trade for his father to have to power to unite Japan. He ends up surviving and starts his quest thanx to the help of a vary gifted Doctor, to locate and kill every demon that took a bodypart so that he may become whole again. Well long story short...it plays well has lots of sword that you locate and plays a bit like Tenchu. You also fire canon rounds outta your right leg and have a machine gun in your right elbow. I know, i know..sounds hilarious but its quite fun and can be purchased at EB for $20 new and even less used. :smirk:

Nope, put it down after ten minutes but it;s what I sell it for.

Actually, I lowered it recently to $30 since it doesn't sell.

I guess I should have updated this thread. Well, GameCrazy had a deal where you buy two games that sell for under $15 and get a third free. With this deal, he bought Kingdom Hearts, Red Faction 2, and Capcom vs SNK 2 for $30 (he has a "MVP card" so he got a discount). He still has $10 in store credit, but heck, I'm sure he'll be kept busy for a while.

Thanks, all!
