hi

im not sure if im allowed to ask this here due
to the nature of the question but ill ask anyway

im thinking of buying a laptop with a 17" WXGA
widescreen monitor but im a little concerned about
the widescreen , i ask because i like a bash on
SSF2T online via killera now and again and the plan was
to display the computer on my toshiba 29" 4.3 TV
via the s-video TV out , what i was wondering is
would the computer display the right screen
ratio on my 4.3 IE it wouldnt have a stupid
border or be stretched in anyway ??

sorry if this question seems dumb but the laptop
is gonna cost me £1000

cheers
Trev

You should be able to set a seperate resolution for the tv your outputting to. Something like 640x480(I think this is the actual s-video resolution).

Unless laptop manufactures have changes since the last laptop I bought, make sure you have your s-video cable plugged into the laptop and tv BEFORE you boot the pc. It makes things so much easier that way.

Since you're in the UK, couldn't you just get a vga -> scart adaptor? That'd be RGB -> RBG...
