This is my new cab and we need to store it upstairs, Its just an inch too big to get through at the top. I tried to see if the control panel would come of but The screws are so mangled I dont know how I would do it.
Im thinking If I take the monitor out it would weigh a lot less and we should be able to get it over the thing in the way.
My question, how easy is it to remove and re assemble the monitor.

Can you remove the hinges/Paneling on the door?

Im not sure where you mean, I could take the top of the control panel off but not the metal bottom part. The only hinges I have are on the control panel.

lol sorry, im an idiot, No its been through 2 doors, we had to take them off, The problem we have is at the top of the stairs there is a 90 degree turn with a wall on one side and a 4 foot high wall thing on the other, we need to be able to lift the cab up enough to get the control panel over this stupid wall thing.

Something Ive learned about moving cabs, make a cardboard cut out of the cabs foot print, then maneuver through doors etc to the end destination and work out a strategy before u start shifting. ;)

I'm going to go with NGT & ttooddddyy on thier replies...More people the better and the stonger they are the better./...(But then I can understand sometimes finding the friend to help is a bitch.)Mine seem to run why help to move shit is needed.. :loco:

....and practice..Try using something else like,Tape two big boxes together that'll equal the size of the cab and figure if you can get it through....there may be another way of turning the machine that'll make it go through.

I figure: if you can get the cab through without the monitor then it's a waste to take it out.
Take the top off and anything else first..Shoot,I'd drill the screws out of the Control Panel first before I removed the Monitor.
If you remove the monitor it will make the cab lighter, but I would suggest to DISCHARGING it First.
I figure the Monitor will plug and bolt right out then taking note of what goes where..

Whatever you do,don't fuck with the monitor, unless you're in a dire need of an electro-therapy.

Get a dolly and make sure the cab is well protected with cardboard so the dolly does not scrach it. You should wrap bungies around the cab so it is strapped to the dolly. I would get 1 person in back that is holding on the dolly handle. And 2 people following you up the stairs. They could possible grab the bottom of the dolly to give you a boost over the stairs.

I have moved many washers, refridgerators and such when i worked for a rent a center. This always seemed to work the best. Just make sure it is strapped tightly to the dolly.
