Nice very nice. Purely for test purposes though. You couldn't actually play without being somewhat uncomfotable.

We discussed about this before, maybe the thread can be searched. I think we reached the conclusion that the first device like this that was commercially sold (in Honk Kong I think) in the 90s had the name "supergun" on its cadboard box. I actually have a more modern Hong Kong made supergun with the name "Supergun II" (in a font similar to the Street Fighter 2 title) printed in the case.

Notice that in some places of Europe (specially Germany) it is also called "MAK" (Multi Arcade Konsole). Here in Spain we usually called "combo" what would be a simple test rig, but used for playing (just a JAMMA harness, a PC AT psu and the cables coming from it, and using the controller ports in a MVS board).

Cheers I asked this on another forum & got a load of bullshit reply's, although some 1 once wrote into a U.K games mag back in the day & asked the very same question & was told its was a weapon from Iraq, made from pipes, supergun sounds about right for H/K after all you get hose "super wild cards" for the snes from there too.

I remember another name which was Mach 5 from back in the day, but I don't know anything about where it came from. Test Rig is the OG name, but I guess Supergun somehow became the word to describe test rigs as a whole, like Walkman was used to describe any portable tape deck, even non-Sony ones.

Nice link. I would love to have one of those Capcom Jamma testers.

Couldn't you US guys contact Biederman Design Labs to see if they couldn't make you one?

That's awesome... I may have to build something like it :D. I think that one of those ps1 portable lcd monitors would look pretty awesome in the lid above the pinout guide.

Actually there really was a weapon called a Supergun from Iraq that Saddam back in the day was trying to build to aim it at Israel. He wasn't successful with the project as the Israeli Air Force did a pre-emptive strike on it before it was completed so Saddam had to abandon it all together. Just thought I'd post it cause I saw it on the History Channel I believe. :D

I think some of the parts came from England too, they makers tried to cover it up as oil pipeline parts.

Yeah it was like an oil pipeline. I've seen footage of it. It looked like an oil pipeline aimed at an angle toward the sky and it was resting on a man made hill I believe.

It probably was an oil pipeline! It wouldn't take much to convert an oil pipeline into a kick ass gun turret! I remember that scandal too, it was only a few years ago.

I think we're getting a little off topic here though...

Just got myself a briefcase for my new soon-to-be test rig for $1.05 from a thrift store one of my pals works at... does anyone know where I could get some joysticks that short (under 3")?
