Inspired by the concept of the Shmup trade thread, but a little disapointed by the turn out, I had an idea. And that idea is this.

The Swap Meet thread.

The idea is very simple. Put up any games or game related materials in the thread that you'd be willing to part with (everyone has extra games, doubles, extra controllers, video cables, that spare N64 memory card that you thought you'd need till you realized it sucked...).

If someone sees something of yours that they'd like, they can offer up a trade. And vice versa.

Simple. What differs from a normal "I have x and y for trade" threads is usually that person wants to move it soon before they eBay or something. Items just hang here.

As well we can have 3 way trades. If I have a game that Evil Wasabi wants, but Wasabi has nothing I want... I can look and see if Kernow has anything that I'd like and then see if he'd need anything Wasabi has.

Easy shit.

I think it'll be a great way to move out a lot of stuff that's just collecting dust for some fresh gear.

Hopefully we'll get some takers. I think the idea has some promise, it just need some people interested.

A cursory look through my piles (I'll get a better inventory later this week when I reorganize):

[2 Copies] Layer Section- for the PC, sealed. Great port of the Saturn game. Lacks the 'coolness' of owning a Saturn copy but still non stop shooter goodness.

Metal Slug 1- NGPC US, Sealed. I haven't been able to trade or sell this forever.

King Of Fighters R2- NGPC US, Sealed. Forgot about this one.

Goldfinger External PSX Modchip- Never been opened. Pros: Beats the hell out of soldering a chip. Cons: Not a lot of people looking for Playstation 1 mod chip.

Playstation RGB Scart Cable- Third Party, in intriguing condition. Never been used, still has box and original twist tie. However, I did remove the hood to see the wires underneath (this was from when I was just learning about RGB and video cables). Pretty sure I lost the hood and I don't know why those two grey wires are hanging out. Junk to me, but if you hack cables...

PS1 Link Cable Third Party, boxed. Never used.

Evil Zone PSX, sealed.

Blaze Scorpion PSX Guncon With rapid fire and laser sight.

Indigo Intec GameCube monitor Good condition with all cables. Accepts other devices through Mini-DV connector (not included).

PN03 GC, Excellent condition.

Nintendo World Exclusive DS Tennis Shirt Black and Large, Brand New

Sengoku Turb JPN DC, With Spine card. From a loving DC collector. The case has some cracks, but nothing that can't be replaced (was like that when I bought it).

I've got a copy of BC Racers for the Sega 32X with box ( in VG condition) but without manual that I will toss up as trade bait.

I like this idea. Here's what I've got:

March 2005 issue of Famitsu Wave DVD - complete with DVD, case, magazine. DVD watched once. Huge interview with Shinji Mikami (RE4), MGS3 strategy, tons of movies.

Boxed Saturn ASCII Fighting Stick - stick is near-mint with a bit of logo-fade, stick and buttons are perfect. Box is a bit beat-up but intact.

A whole bunch of issues of Saturn Fan magazine, as follows:

I like the idea of this thread. I would be more likely to swap with members with solid sale/trade reputation than take my chances with utter strangers on some of the other sites mentioned just because of familiarity.

All I ask is that people keep their posts updated. Meaning if you trade something away or get something you wanted, update it.

This is different than the Shmups thread in that that one is for giveaways.

NGage QD, slight scuffing on the outside, one of the sides of the box is missing, otherwise fine. Comes with a charger, THPS game, and the CD's. Also, you should be able to swap out the SIM card with your own.

What type's of games are you looking for to trade?

As odd as it sounds, I'd probably be most interested in trading for an old-style N-Gage. Sadly, I don't really have an X-Box, so I can't really trade for any of your games.

I guess I'll offer the following:

First, two Japanese Gameboy games. They've been collecting dust for quite some time.
Pocket Monster Trading Card Game GB (Pokemon): Box is worn (but in one piece), manual's kinda scuffed, plastic insert is a bit crushed. Everything else is like new (well the cartridge has some insertion marks). It comes with the cartridge, cartridge case, manual, Dragonite card (unopened), plastic insert, flyer for Gameboy Camera, flyer for Gameboy Color, registration card.

Dragonball Z: Goku Hishouden: This used to be rare/sought after and it still seems to be rare as I can't find any to buy online. The manual is scuffed in a vertical line on the left side, but the other stuff is in much better condition- the box is still stiff, with some slight wear, and the cartridge and case are fine and dandy (the cartridge has insertion marks). All I have is the box, cartridge, cartridge case, and manual.


Oohanbi Big Fireworks for the NeoGeo Pocket Color: Used once then returned to the box.

I also have a lot of official PS2 and GCN cases, and some generic DVD and VHS cases (edit: see here.)

(also I have some miscellaneous old PC stuff: DSL modem, 1GB hard drives, AT PSU, SIMM RAM)

As for what I'd like? I'm in the mood for some gadgets and electronics. Have an old CB Radio, minidisc player, PDA, or anything cool like that? I'd be interested in a trade (as long at it works). I'd take offers on games too, but I'd really like someting cool to tinker with.
