I was wondering if anyone on this forum believes it is possible to mod the neo cd to have a much faster drive? cause it seems like the only reason it was so slow is cause when it came out technology kinda sucked. So can it be swapped out for a newer drive somehow? If yes then how? I will so buy one if this can be done.

Its pointless as all NGCD media is only 1 or 2x.

If you put in a 45x drive, it will still read the disks as 1x.

The same thing goes for burning stuff. Media thats only 1x can only be burned at 1x (even if your drive is 12x) and so on.

Just use Nebula if you want to play with no load times.

I go along with AJ on this, get a mvs set up. A cost effective way of enjoying NeoGeo with no load time. From an enthusiasts point of view the main reason for having a NGCD is for the few games and features that are exclusive to that system not supported by mvs imho..
