The colors keep going out on my cabinet's monitor so I figured I needed a cap kit for it. The problem is I have no idea how to tell what kind of monitor it is to buy one because I don't see any labels on the back of it telling me. Its a Sega Aero City cab with a 29 inch monitor. Assuming its the default monitor for that kind of cab, can anyone tell me what brand/type/whatever this thing is so I can get it fixed? Thanks.

I figured maybe I could look at the pcb on the back and find out what I needed so I could buy them individually, but I don't even know what to look for. :help:

There are no numbers or brand names anywhere on the pcb, chassis, or the back of the CRT tube??

Maybe a piccy would help ID it.

If you have difficulty with identification you could always remove the electros one by one and carefully note their location, then order them individually rather than in kit form.

I looked for some info on the back of the tube but couldn't find any last time I checked, Dogtoy. As soon as I track down my digital camera I'll put up a few photos of it.

Sorry for the holdup guys, I couldn't find my camera. I did find out what the pcb is though, its a Nanao MS8-26A . Turns out the monitor is 26" and I was looking at 29 inchers.

Okay, the first question is: DO I need a cap kit for this? I don't see any wavy lines or bars, but sometimes all the blue or green or red in the picture will cut out for a while. None of the sites I read that talk about cap kits mention this as a symptom but I can't think of what else it could be.

Secondly, does anyone know where I can get a cap kit for a Nanao MS8-26A? I looked and came up with nothing.

You probably have dry joints around the rgb video output stage. Maybe on the CRT base pcb, usually around the three output transistors
