Faulty NGCD

Is it possible to replace the cd laser unit? Anybody who has done this before?
First i had messages like 'disc I/O error 0002' at the moment the laser is only ticking.

Im not shure what type(s) they use, does the optical assy have a KSM-XXX? # on it.

Also it may be a problem with the servo/tracking control circuitry, maybe even alignment of the same. In which case probably beyond repair, I take it you have cleaned the lens.

Never actually seen one to be honest.
