Turns out the local Neo Geo in my town has Strikers 1945 Plus; huge f'n score, can't wait to play it.

I was just curious as to what you all think of this one, from the demo I saw of it there, it just looked like a purtier version of the original. Any gameplay difs?

Beautiful game, love the awesome explosions on this one.

BTW,Plus is somewhat of a mixture between the original and its sequel, from what I understand.

Strikers 1945 Plus is mainly a remix of Strikers 1945 Part 2 (for background data and bosses) with 2 completely original levels. The planes are an odd mixture from both games with some all new ones. All of the bullet patterns are totally different though.

The game is akin to playing the console ports of the first two in Yoko mode, but with the onscreen data moved into the bars at either side of the screen.

Thanks for the clarification,Kiken.

BTW,does the Zero Fighter appear in the original?

I wish this cart wasn't so damn expensive.

I've always got an eye out for one at a reasonable price.

How much are you looking to spend? Let me know, and perhaps I can help you find one at a more affordable rate.

Hands down my favorite shooter on the Neo - I love this game.

The bullet patterns get a little ridiculous in the later levels, but I love the meaty explosions, the WWII-themed music, and the variety in the fighters at your disposal. Great stuff.

P.S. It's sitting in my 4-slot right now. :kekeke:

Selectable craft from Strikers 1945:
P-38 Lightning
P-51 Mustang
Spitfire
Messer Bf 109
Zero Fighter
Shinden J7

Selectable craft from Strikers 1945 Part II:
P-38 Lightning
F-5U Flying Pancake
Focke-Wulf Ta 152
Ki84 Hayate
J7W Shinden
DH98 Mosquito

Selectable craft in Strikers 1945 Plus:
P-38 Lightning
Focke-Wulf Ta152
F-5U Flying Pancake
Zero Fighter Type52
Spitfire MK-VI
Fiat G-56
P55 Ascender (requires a code or very good timing to use)

The sub-weapon system in Strikers 1945 Plus is a mix between Strikers 1945 Part II and Zero Gunner 2. By shooting enemies you increase increments in the charge-up meter (Like Strikers 1945 Part II). However, once you hit max, a single sub-weapon usage is stored (like earning your sub-weapon shots in ZG2 by collecting the green Energon cubes). Each plane can hold a different amount of max sub-weapon charges. Thusly, each sub-weapon charge for a specific plane deals the same damage (there are no multiple levels of sub-weapon charge).

For instance, the F-5U Flying Pancake can store up to 6 charges (AFAIR) and each one resembles the Level-2 charge shot from Strikers 1945 Part II (dual piercing lasers, one from each wing).

Strikers 1945 Plus is Neo-Geo MVS only (it never saw an AES release, yet alone a port to another console). However, there is a Korean PC port of the game (basically just the ROM run through a really lame emulator).

Conversion. A well done one though.

That it is. Note that the decal on the cart uses the cover-art from Strikers 1945 Part II.

That particular insert looks pretty shoddy, imo.

If I were to drop some serious cash on a Plus conversion,I'd go with !Arcades! version

Great looking insert but too bad they used an old style case instead of a snap.

I don't recall seeing any !Arcade!'s Strikers Plus conversions on old style
cases, unless it was switched by someone.. I had one, and it was bought new,
on a snap lock case.

Very Nice, the kit I used to own had a crystal blue cart. Looked very sexy, I wish I still had it.
