I recently received a neo geo aes , what i assume is a jap model

the details are

Neo Geo
Model No. NEO-O
Rating 8W
Use pro-pow ac adaptor only
serial no , 90a 005940

now i used a megadrive one adapter which is 10volts , 1.2 a + . - polarity . it didn't work and i then realized my stupid mistake . i have opened up the neogeo and see no sign of anything being fried . When i used the megadrive adapter nothing happened no burning smell .

has anyone had any experience on accidently using the wrong adapter with the early models . i realise i should have used the 5volt , 3amp adapter now but don't have one to test it with and its probably not worth buying one if the neo isn't going to work .

You should be fine. Using the wrong power supply doesn't normally damage the system.

You'll need the 5 Volt/3 Amp power supply.

Good luck & happy gaming,

yeah, using a wrong power supply for a short period of time doesnt damage the system.

Have a look at this thread from a couple of weeks ago. It'll answer your questions and put your mind at rest.

This thread is useful too.

The forum search facility is really handy ;)
