I take it that's using a mono MVS board, such as a 1-slot? With a 2-slot (or other stereo board) would I need to build two of those circuits, one for each sound signal?

Up to now I've used the signal from the headphone socket. Is there any problem with this (apart from the wires running from underneath the board), because it's much simpler than building an attenuation circuit?
