4 slot help...newbie ????

Hey all.....new to the board.....any help would be appreciated.
I have a Big Red as its called Neo Geo.
It has a 4 slot in it.
It cycles 1-2 then 4. It skips the third slot. Any idea why???
Also when I turn the game on...it coins up 2 credits right away... Any ideas why???
Are there setting s on the individual cartridges?? Or is all set on the main board via the dip switches??

He speaks the truth, try cleaning the pins on the slot and the cart. Lets isolate the problem. Remove all the cart then insert a know working cart into one of the slots that was not working to get at least one variable out of the equation.

The third slot does not work when I rotate the working carts...I do need to clean it ...which I will do tomorrow. And then put only one in the htird spot and see what happens.

as for the game getting 2 coins on power-up, check the connections to the coin switches - they're probably on ass-backwards (since on my coin switches the normally-open connector is the other pin compared to _EVERY OTHER MICROSWITCH_ in the cabinet)

to check, put the neo in test mode, pick hardware test, and hit start until the switch test shows up. If they're ass-backwards, the coin switches will show up as 1.

Thanks for the help guys !!!!!!!! I found that it was a bad cartridge....I dont know why..it was working before ......I also found that the switches and connector for the coin door were horribly corroded ...so some contact...then sometimes none.....thanks anyway for the response's....really all it takes it time and proccess of elimination.!!!!!!
