After about 1.5 years of storage, I tried to boot up this board & got nothing. The board was purchased new & has been safely stored since its last play (no damage). Any suggestions? I noticed a small lithium battery underneath, would replacing this battery (small disc type) restore life to the board?

Any help awesome, thanks

What do you on screen...anything..?

I don't think the battery makes any difference..but if it leaked/went bad and got on some traces then that would mess up the board.

Try cleaning the edge connector real good...

If that board has been sitting for 1 1/2 years, it probably has a filthy Jamma edge. Many of my boards, even mvs carts, if left sitting around for a week will cease to function without a cleaning of the edge connector.

Get some light sand paper the that boards edge connector and then use 91% Alcohol to remove the residue..Then you should have a super clean edge connector...

Do you have a cart on the board?..As I'm not sure if a Hyper 64 board(either one) will show anything without a cart.
I've never tried to boot up a Hyper 64 board without a cart..
I'm not sure if Hyper 64 has a boot up menu/cross hatch or anything without a cart..(I need an answer from someone who has tried this to know)

If you do have a cart on the board..
Make sure that the connection between the board and the cart is good/press on cart..
You may need to blow out any dust in-between the cart and board..
Look with a light at the pins..do they look yellowed..?
....................
Do you have a digi/voltage meter..?

Regardless of the version, the Hyper 64 board will not boot without a cart being installed. Heck, that is even written on the manual.
