Raz states its not for resale on the unibios site.

Im no lawyer so do not understand the legal aspect, I doubt there is a registered copywrite on the software, it seems to be more intended as shareware - over to Razoola.

Its bad form imho for someone to profit from anothers dedicated work. It looks like a one off that may have been purchased from Raz in the first place, if it was someone mass flogging the eproms they would be doing it with V2.0 I guess ?

Yup, thats a nono. That chip isnt even an original one. If you want to do a duty you can report the sale (auction) as a mod chip to ebays customer service as your not even allowed to sell those on ebay.

What a lamewad... it's not even a current unibios... I'll bet the guy downloaded the rom, burned theprom himself, and printed a crappy label... He would probably get more money if he took the label off, formatted it and sold it as a blank eprom.

buying an old uni-bios that was not even burned by Raz != good

But is he not selling the chip, not the data on the rom? I thnk he just wants it to go to a good home.

If they were selling the chip fine ..... it should be a 27c1024 but no mention of this ....

There is a link to a unibios site as well ............so they are obviously "aware" of the unibios which implies they are also aware of the terms of it which they are breaching !

When somebody puts this much work into something so useful the least we can do is at least respect their wishes .... as I am sure nearly all of this board will agree with ....

In this case it takes a few seconds to report this .... surely we owe this much ????

Although new to the forums here the reason I joined was a "family" type feeling with the majority of people being friendly, helpful and supportive. I look at this thread as an option to support .... because I certainly could never achieve anything like the unibios myself !!!

Raz has done wonderful work on developing the unibios, at the same time (nothing to do with the above link btw) is/ or has been involved with mame dev. which is fine, wish I had the skills to contribute, contributed some boards for dumping.

With all respect, only 3 years ago Raz would have been burned around here by the neogeonazis, wake up old timers. Thankfully the puritans have wised up or died.

3 quid for a 1024 eprom is not bad anyway, erase and write the new version (which is allowed afaik)
