Yeah I know, another ROTD problem thread!

But I was just wondering,

I recently got ROTD and the game crashes with every region setting on my unibios except Japan Console. This seems to be kinda unfinished with debug options etc. Has anyone noticed that this game crashes on an MV-1Z on this setting?

The debug options, character model menus, etc. are on the home version of ROTD in any region(I believe). If you set your uni-bios to MVS, they will go away. Try that and see what regions it will work in.

Yeah, I know , anyway it seems to work fine in any setting, as long as I dont push the cart all the way in. WEIRD, so what causes this problem?

Are you getting the usual reseting problem? (flickering graphics, reseting game)

If you are there is some solder work that might help alleviate the problem.

I know that many times w/ both my 1-slot and 4-slot, if a game doesn't work, I can wiggle the game a bit and usually back it out some and then when I power back up it will work. I assume this has to do with dirt on cart contacts and/or the cart being inserted at an angle so that some pins may be crossed. Doesn't seem to be a ROTD problem, unless you are getting the normal resetting problems.

Usually I try to reseat the contacts between cart and board when I am getting graphics/sound glitches, or if a game doesn't appear in my 4-slot when it is inserted.

Well, as i have a unibios 2.0 installed I get an error message (Write). but you can usually see some flicker during the intro and then the game will crash/reset either in game, or during the intro screens. As long as the game is not pushed all the way in its perfect. I can change modes from console to MVS all day long, with no errors. Its like they made the contacts wider (or thinner) maybe thats what causes these problems?? My ROTD is mint as new, no wear on the connectors whatsoever.

I am aware of the fix for the game. But what does it do exactly? and how comes I can get the game working perfectly with a little jiggle? :glee:
