Hey guys, semi-nooblet here...

I recently secured a 4-slot MVS, and an order full of Bob Roberts parts- I finished building up the power board, and the switching supply is putting out +5.00v as it should - I checked the harness connections where there should be +5v and all read okay. The 12v one reads a little high, it's 12.2v when the harness is unplugged, but about 13v when the harness is plugged in.

The only only things I have plugged n are video and sound - the monitor goes from "no signal" to a blank screen for a few seconds when I power everything on, but then reverts to "no signal". I'm getting no sound from the speakers with or without a cart in any slot. I have an MV-LED2 plugged into the player one LED, and it does read 0. I plugged in an MV-ELD also, but I don't get any lit panels at all.

All dips are off, and the speaker volume is at halfway (since I don't know what max is...guessing all the way to the right, since that gets me the most fuzz)....

Any ideas on how to get this puppy working? I'm at a loss.

What are you building this in..a Cab?

Can you take pics of what you've built so far..and post them..?

How much of the harness is finished as grounds are required..?

icoNsx helped me out a bit - apparently the pins on the JAMMA adapter didn't seem to be pushed down far enough to make good contact with the board. I figured a new adapter would fit just fine, but apparently not. :P

As for the video, I've still got the same error. Strange. The monitor has a horizontal and vertical sync I twisted together with the composite sync, video ground is on vid ground, red is on red, blue is on blue, green is on green. Still nothing, and the monitor kinda flickers a bit.

This is for a cab, and the harness is pretty much fully populated. I've just got things sitting out on my bartop for now, with PCB feet on the mobo.

I should prlloy also mention the video seems to flicker now and again, and the vertical sync seems reversed...

maybe somehow the frquency being sent to the monitor is too high (or too low)? and its shutting down to protect itself?

Well, I got the inverted video fixed, but now the monitor doesn't seem to want to show any video at all after I tested that :( I gave up and ordered a 25" from genao.com.
