HI.

I have sound problems with this cart.

Sometimes after a round, the sound just cuts out on a few channels or something. You can still here some of the music and effects, but its I'm sure it's not the rig that I play it in because none of my other carts have this issue. I opened it up awhile ago and cleaned the inside ( there was sticky stuff on one of the boards.) Anyway, I want to see if it's a bootleg copy.
Thanks.

That Cart looks to be Legit...(From what's known at this site)

Take some light sand paper to each of the cart connectors then clean off the residue with alcohol...

Make sure the carts boards are not being warped, bent by a too tight case..
That may cause a bad connection beteween the cart and Motherboard..

Pull the cart out of the Mobo a little and see what happens..

Cover those EPROMS(glass window chips) With Black Tape.

probably OK, the eproms dont bother me but the masks are usually uniform from what Ive seen on my carts. Are there proms on there ? or do they all have the same game/batch numbers.

Edit: I may well be wrong here, but I smell a rat

yup... that's as legit as my copy of puzzle bobble... even has the stickers in the same place on the eproms... I dunno about your sound issue though... mine has no problems... If your's is a boot... mine is too... and it would have to be from the same booter... so... I think you're safe there. try cleaning the contacts like chris1 said... although sandpaper might be a bit much... I'd just use alcohol...

It's legit...My puzzle bobble looks identical. Some of the mask roms are numbered for puzzle bobble, some for power spikes or something like that. My eprom windows were not covered, so I put electrical tape over them.

i would definitly clean the cart throughly ,thats always the first step when getting a new game...dirty carts = dirty slots and they are a huge pain to clean.

Just a quick word coverng eprm "windows"

This isnt really a must do sort of thing since it takes a very powerful UV light to erase them , were talking specialized equipment here. I wouldnt leave them in direct sunlight for long periods of time ,other than that tape or no tape they should be fine, though it definitly doesnt hurt to have them covered :)

When used in the black cases there is pretty much no way they will loose their data since direct light of any sort is pretty impossible and even in the translucent cases you probably couldnt get the amount of light needed even with the correct lighting source.

Definitly use tape ,but its not something to be real worried about.

Sorry, man. I'm a dumbass and don't know what proms are.

Thanks everybody for the responses.

I cleaned the crap outta this thing.

I noticed at the top of the boards something that looked like soot.

I don't know if something got cooked in the cart or if some of the black plastic rubbed or whatever.

Ok,l'll do the tape thing, too. I just couldn't in good conscience take sand paper to this thing. Guess I'm a puss.

The sand paper would have to be light in grain and just used on the connectors..
I do it all the time.....then I use 90% Alcohol to get any residue off.

If you clean with just an eraser or Alcohol the contacts still stays yellow...I'd done it so many times with MVS and other systems carts like NES.....It's just not super clean any other way IMO.
I could show pics of the results and you'd be amazed at the difference..

I get a Golden shine not a Yellow shine..
Also depends on how dirty the carts connectors are too...
....................................................
I'd also suugest if you've never used sandpaper then don't use it....You could also try "Dry" Green Scotch Brite..

I'm with Chris1 on the sandpaper, I do it all the time. Just make sure it is really fine, then clean them off real good. I know you're scared, I was too! Practice on an old super mario cart or something. This method usually gets rid of my odd sound issue.
