To cut a long story short...........
I have a Raiden 2 boardset that has been working fine appart from an annoying intermittent problem with the sound (high pitch whining which doesnt seem to be in the analog audio output stage) So I thought I would give the board a general service, blow away the cobwebs, remove roms and clean pins etc. Took antistatic precautions btw.
When I reinserted the socketed roms all I get now is gfx garbage.
I took note of the rom locations but may have fucked up. There are no bent pins and the orientation is correct on all roms.

Question is, anyone with a Raiden 2 board that can confirm I have them located correctly ??? I could check and compare with the mame dumps but not sure it would help with location. Piccy here.(with lithium battery missing and additional audio output heatsinking)

That's a description from the Raiden2 driver in the MAME source code. Hopefully the board will leave the formatting.

Just a thought, I have a couple of double dragon boards I and II that were working then stoppped and only showed a garbled graphics as well. I tried everything then I replaced the hex inverter chips on both boards and this fixed the graphics. The chips that I replaced were 74s04n.

Download the mame pcb-infos088u6.zip file, it contains the mame rom file name and board locations for all games. This file is great for board repairs. Good luck.

My screen is just white squares moving upwards, no sound or anything else, when i turn off my game i hear a 'Swwwooop!' sound from the speakers, weird, the game was fine, then one day this happened.

I will try to get a pic tonight

Anybody have a mirror for this file? I dropped by mame.net this morning to look for it, but the site seems to be down at the momoent.
