Well here's something new that I thought I'd try. A Super Nintendo modded with gold-plated, color-coded A/V jacks, an S-Video jack, and a purple LED. Comes with all the necessary hardware, power supply, two original controllers, 6 ft. gold-plated S-Video & Audio cable, and 3 complete games. I think it looks pretty snazzy, let me know what you think.

Very neat. Does it *really* output S-Video, by the way? I didn´t know the SNES was capable of that.

Cheers,

huh not to rain on this tea party, bute the snes outputs s-video already... thus a mod seems silly to me. all you need to to is buy a $10 s cable. my snes is hooked up using s video and looks great.

the difference between the mini and regular snes is basically the led and s-video (both of which are are part of the olde rmodel), the newer model does not support these features.

True, the Super Nintendo can output S-Video with the special cable, but the cable while not incredibly hard to find, is of very low quality. Using standardized cables allows the user to use the included gold-plated cables, or buy even better cables, for a picture that will have less signal loss than that which is offered with the Nintendo cable.

The purple LED is a nize touch. If you were to do this to someone else's system...what would it run? Would you consider such a feat?

Yes a US mini snes is a lot smaller than a UK snes...
by the way the one in this thread is a standard snes not a mini....

Just use the cables for the GameCube ;)
