Ok, I've been trying this... and its just not working out for me... lets see If I'm doing this right.

I map it like so....

Map.jpg

The Ground is shared with the other buttons, but It doesnt work, and I tried Select up, and Select down Mappings.

Also, 2 other things....

I couldn't get solter to stick on the Microswitch, and I couldn't melt the existing solter on there, but I figure the connection should be the same, just not permanent.

What could be wrong?

Seems like that should be working, but I always wire the opposite of how you are there (switch the wire to the jamma button pin and the wire to ground.) I don't think that this should make a difference, but maybe worth a try. Another thing to test is try another microswitch, maybe that one is damaged?

Also, I would recommend not soldering but using quick disconnects, much easier to work with if you need to replace a switch later and cleaner as well. :)

when are you actually trying to swap games? Basically if you don't have the 'Game Select' SoftDIP in the cabinet settings set to either 'free' or 'anytime' (depending on region) then the games can only be swapped after inserting a coin and before pressing start. Change the setting to 'free' or 'anytime' and you'll be able to swap games before inserting a coin too.

Hmm, I'm trying to swap games during the attract of Fatal Fury 3....

I'll check it out. Thanks Razoola and Orochi. (Bakaorochi from DDRFreak?)

Post results tomorrow.

*EDIT* Just remembered I have no monitor... maybe I'll fix that issue first, but I'm sure you guys are right, I erased the previous settings to default, so thats way more than likely it. But, I will update my results.

Thanks!

short the wire from jamma 26 to ground during attract to confirm that side of the wiring is correct. Maybe a faulty switch, make sure your connected to the NO (normally open connection) which looks correct with standard micro switches, in your piccy.

I have a battery issue with one of my four slots and have to keep putting the game switching back to "free" or whatever like stated above...that's a big possibility and an easy fix.

good luck
