I don't know if this was posted already on general, or unrelated.

apparently kof has been considered to be part of this tournament. Somehow we need to vote.

I plan on going, and so do several people I know but only if kof makes it.

What does everybody else think about this?

I doubt anyone from here would make it, even if KOF becomes part of
the tournament. I know tons of people from other sites who are preparing
to go. The only bad news, I see about KOF being at Evo2k5 is that they want
to use a console version. :oh_no:

Using the PS2 version of KOF 2K2 sure is bad news...

There is a strange bug in the game that can prevent some combos to be made. At the middle of a combo, if there's a small slowdown, the buttons are switched (punches become kicks and vice-versa). And little slowdowns in combos are a constant thing in the game.

I can't see how a PS2 version can be used in a high competition level like EVO's.

We should make our own KOF tourney. Too bad everyone lives so far away from each other. Lately Tsukaesugiru and I have been playing through the whole series.

Tokyo KOF evo 2k5
location: Akihabara, Tokyo at various Gamecenters
Games: Tekken 5, Kof 2k2, and VF Final Tuned
Time: Whenever evo 2k5 is being held.
Prizes: Beer

PM me for details, if I'm not too drunk I'll get back to you.

Back on topic- KOF2k2 for ps2?? Are they insane? Consoles just don't make sense. Last year they held the VF tourney on ps2, just seemed lame to me. Kind of like the weird US arcade option to bring your own controller to plug into the tekken machines. It just doesn't seem right.

Some people didn't grow in the arcades and find them hard to use. I went to arcades regulary and I still find it difficult to do some moves. I would never willing take a freaking console joystick to an arcade with me though.

always the same story... ports vs originals ^^

Anyway, competition wise, ports have to go away , really ^^

WOW! I was reading all the info. I'd like to go this year, I might be in the US this summer....

Something I thought was really odd was which systems they want to use for certian games. Under Vampire Savior and SFA3 the system was listed US Arcade/Supergun/Xbox-E

Are they gonna use xbox emu for a freaking arcade? I think Capcom might get upset. I personally think using consoles if screwed. Seems strange for such a huge tourney. They should atleast have stand up machines for the finals.
