Neo Joystick on Supergun

Hi chapps...
I want to use a standard original large square Neo AES joystick on my supergun ( ravengame mk.2 )

Is there a thread with how to wire one up...?? I have done a search but cant find one...

Well, does your supergun have the same controller port as a Neo Geo? If so, and if you tried your controller in it, did some button work, even if it was not the correct one (i.e. pressing the A button is a direction, etc)? Be careful with this, if some pin has +5V wired it could cause damage.

In order to build an adaptor, it is needed to know the pin-out used in the supergun, it is possible that somebody already has it for your model. Once it is know it is just a matter to match the pin-out with the Neo Geo one, it could be done by hacking a PC DB15 controller extension cable.

I have one of these also and when I plug my supernova controls to it the directions make me do attack moves and the button makes me move

I looked at the pinout on the instruction sheets it gave me and they look to be the same as my other guns but Im guessing its not and wired up differently.

When I get a soldering iron, im just gonna open up the pins from the controller and solder from there as soldering from the supergun looks complicated and so I can find out what buttons are what by unsoldering all the wires then switch the game on and touch the wires to the pins to work out what button should go where so I can make a diagram for solder.

BTW why would they wire up the gun so the buttons are wired differently to other guns?

Doing some continuity tests with a multimeter between the pins of the controller port and the JAMMA harness you should figure out the pin-out much easier.
