I was browsing snk-cap.com forums and found that someone was selling some CPS2 boards there, here is a quote of what was said.

UPDATE: Three CPS2 B boards for sale;

Street Fighter Alpha, Euro blue 950727 release
19XX, Japan green 951207 release
X-Men vs Street Fighter, USA blue 961004 release

All have had the program ROMs patched and lithium batteries removed and now operate suicide free! Region is also switchable via a secret boot up menu.
.

So how do I access this secret boot menu to switch regions?

Looks like you need to have the roms patched, so you can't do that in your original board. Possibly Razoola is the one who does the job, just ask him to patch your roms for you.

If I remember correctly, to get to the menu to change region, you hold down the test button on the CPS-2 board until it boots up. This also lets you access the jukebox fuction. But it's been a while since I had a sucicide free board, so I can't try it anymore.

Yup, when you see the 'Phoenix Edition' logo you press the testmode button. Remember some games don't region switch very well so heed the warning that comes onscreen before changing regions.

What exactly do you mean by that?

A classic example would be Street Fighter Alpha 3. Basically if you have the Alpha version region free and try to region switch it to Japan (through the options) then you will notice all the Japanese winning round text etc is missing. The game will either print up garbage or crash.

Most games however do region switch with out problem. There are just a few that don't.

How about if you have the Zero version and try to switch it to USA? Same rule apply? Is SSF2X affected at all?

Yes, the same rule applies.

However, if you have the Japanese version for example and wanted it made region free into the USA version that can be done by using the ROMs that have the English text in. Of course you then couldent play it in Japanese after by using the region switch menu.

SSF2X can region switch just fine.

Yeah I just figured out that the previous owner of my XvSF board must have done that, thats why it has missing moves like Zangiefs kick lariat. I found this out becuz when I changed the region and returned it back to normal I noticed wolverine is missing his drill claw move. The funny this is the computer can still do these moves, it just doesnt let u do them for some strange reason.

I'm not quite sure that is possible unless some moves are in certain regions only.

Update

All the moves are in the game. The problem is my supergun is wired for 5 button Atomiswave setup, so the only way I can hook up the XMvSF with all the moves working is to put one of the kick buttons on a pin by itself. If you share pins with the atomiswave buttons certain moves don't work for some reason.

So I either have to solder for either Atomiswave or Xmen, I can't have both (Xmen still works but missing moves). Im assuming the Atomiswave 4th and 5th button must be interfering or something. Strange thing is that all the buttons still works for Xmen, just can't do certain moves unless I give one of the kicks gets its own dedicated pin.
