Building a Supergun - Complete n00b!!

Hi,

I've just bought a 4-slot MVS board (not arrived yet) and I need to build a supergun for it until I can get round to buying a cab.

Basically are there any decent tutorials for someone at my level for a simple supergun. The only thing that i definately want is a scart to connect to a TV. Am i right in thinking the 4-slot itself has connectors for controllers?

I don't believe 4 slots are jamma so you might want to make a mvs to jamma fingerboard so you can use the supergun on other boards too.

You believe wrong, all MVS boards are JAMMA standard.

The sound is still an issue... But a minor one...

I would either:

Add a stereo/mono switch to my supger gun.

OR:

Wire the Supgergun for mono and take the four slot sound off of the headphone connector

OR:

Just wire the Supergun for Stereo. I don't think that you will be using this for JAMMA ANYWAYS...

Are the controller ports on the 4-slot standard neo-geo controller connectors or are they like D15's?

if they are standard is it possible to still have a controller section in the supergun? would i have to 'switch' between the two?

The ports in the MVS board are standar Neo Geo. You can still wire controller ports to the JAMMA harness through the supergun, and it is recommended so that way you can use other JAMMA boards. You should wire those ports according to the Neo Geo standar so you can use the same controllers. You don't need to "switch", both will work at the same time.
