power cord colors...??? can you match them?

well, i cut open a 3 prong power cord and instead of black, white, and green...


I get blue, brownish grey, and a green and yellow striped one...


So, can you match them up?



Black = (blue or brownish grey?)
White = (blue or brownish grey?)
Green and Yellow stripe = Green


any help would be appreciated...and ASAP if possible...as it's all I am waiting for

Why not just use a cont test on a multimeter?

I had never done that before and hate my multimeter. I have never learned how to do it.

I tried it and it worked... Black = Brownish grey and White = Blue...
