I have converted many types of Joystick/Joypad to use with a Neo/Supergun, I was just wondering if there is anyone with some nice schematics to build a cool case for a stick?

I have Made some sticks from scratch, but the boxes were too bulky, and not comfortable, the problem with them was caused by me using Happ sticks, and them sitting far too deep.

I got loads of stick and buttons, i just need to make some new controllers!

Try arcadecontrols.com

and here is a schematic from someone who uses Sanwa sticks and buttons:http://byrdo.org/small_sanwa_blueprint.htm

Putting a sanwa stick and buttons in a dreamcast arcade stick is pretty good and quite cheep aswell. Far less work too...

I second that.

Also you mentioned Neo/SuperGun. You can put Sanwa's in a Neo Hori Stick. Neo's are pretty solid, but when you put Sanwa's in them they are pretty sweet.

You can go out and buy all sorts of cases...

Or you can just pickup a Pelican Real Arade stick for $35-$45 stick.

Keep the stick, change the buttons and put a neo connector on it:

I personally can't stand the sticks that come on a pelican realarcade... I'd swap that out for a happ ultimate pretty damn pronto... and probably the buttons too.

I have modded plenty of DC Sticks to run on superguns/Neos, But of course the DC joystick is only 8 way.
Are the sanwa sticks 360 degrees?? and how easy is it to fix them in, what needs cutting out etc???

From what I know there is a Sanwa Flash Stick (same as Happ 360 stick) and then theres the standard Sanwa that has microswitches. Himuragames.com carries Sanwa parts, but from my understanding the Flash sticks were discontinued by Sanwa. I don't think himura games has anymore in stock.

People have figured out clever ways to mount Sanwa's without too much modding. Personally I've only put Sanwa's in Hori Neo Sticks. I cut away all of the mounting brackets for the Hori stock stick and drilled two holes to mount the Sanwa. One more thing, since most sticks have a metal plate on top of the plastic casing, you can mount the stick to the plastic casing using a bolt with a flat head, then you can cover it with the metal plate.

Dreamcast stick with Sanwa stick.

If you go to the forums at himuragames, you will find examples.

so its not too nasty, I can see you have only drilled the holes for the bolts in the DC stick. My conversions have always been 100% reversible, with no drilling/cutting involved (thanks to the DC having handy plugs that connect to the circuit board) thanks for the info, maybe I would rather build one from scratch, with a project box or something as the case.

I don't know how difficult it is in the UK, but I've had a hard time finding project boxes for custom sticks. I've seen project boxes that are similar in size as the Hori Neo sticks, but I can't seem to find any for sale. People have showed me links to online stores that sell project boxes, but the sizes are either too small or way too big.

I had a look in Charlie chaplins (maplins) the other day, but all thier boxes were way too small, not to mention way to expensive!

Easy now,

I dont know much myself, but would advise you get in contact with netropolis. I have seen some of his homebrew mods of neo sticks that he sells on ebay and he maybe able to help. I even had to email him and tell him how nice they looked, rock on netropolis :buttrock:

Thx Bumba
