Hi chappps..
Just got a nice Ravengames Supergun MkII off a forum member here... It is wired with an RGB scart lead but there is no sound from the TV, only from the internal supergun speaker they have...

I opened the scart lead to find none of the audio pins are wired up!

So my question is, can I solder some wires onto the inside of the supergun somewhere and then the other ends into my Scart lead..?? I know where the scart pins are for audio but I have never seen the inside of a supergun but will in 2 minutes when I open it up after typing this !! Any help of where audio is outputted from will be magic! ;)

Regards
Richard

hehehe, the reason they have rigged up an internal speaker is because the amplified sound from some PCBs can damage a home stereo or TV speaks under certain circumstances. My Bought, and home made SG's all run sound though the TV speaker, with no probs, just make sure you turn the PCB's sound down nice and low, and use the TV to adjust the volume.

Ok as far as wiring the scart, you will need a JAMMA Diagram, and a RGB Diagram, found here:

thanks for the help buddy....
I just noticed a headphones socket on the rear of the SG... I suppose I could come of this right..?? there is a small volume screw adjustor / resistor type thing on the 1-slot MVS board so this is where I can turn it down yeah..?? Also, I suppose I could get rid of the internal speaker and just use those wires straight onto the Scart lead too..??

Meh! Dreamstationx - Big on AES, NNoooooooB on MVS & Jamma! :help:

Isn't there an attenuation circuit described somewhere on these forums that allows the sound from a pcb to be safely outputted to a tv?

I know what you mean bud. I've done all the mods on AES but I'm a noob with MVS. I just bought my first 2-slot tonight though, so I'll soon be scouring these forums for info about how to consolise it.

From what I understand I would have thought your best bet would be to run wires from the sound pins on the Jamma connector to the sound pins on the scart socket. I think that's why be3moth gave you the links to the pinouts for both of those.

yeah.. think I will go for jamma wires to scart.... BUT, the http://www.coin.demon.co.uk/jamma.htm link states SOLDER SIDE & PARTS SIDE and since I will be coming off the wiring loom, which side is which...?? I have my JAMMA connector labled TOP and BOTTOM so I assume one will be top & vice versa.... but which one..?? Also, on the Jamma, L & 10 are labled SPEAKER - & +, and M & 11 are AUDIO GROUND & AUDIO +, so again, which ones for the games sound that I should run down the RGB lead...??

Bear in mind Im only using a Supergun and an MVS 1-slot.. no PCB's as such... but maybe one day! ;)

Regards for all the help JAMMA & MVS masters....

The wire soldered to the positive tab of the supergun speaker (which comes form jamma 10) need to go to scart pins 2 and 6. The scart is obviously already grounded for video so you don't need to bother with sound grounding. And leave the speaker- wire (which goes from jamma L to the negative tab of the supergun speaker) alone.

Just make sure you use a cheap TV/Hifi to test it with. The built in speaker is Arcade Heavens measure to stop people runing amplified sound through their TV, fucking it and blaming them :) You're supposed to use the 3.5mm at the back and hook it up to something more used to it, eg MD/Tape inputs.
