I'm trying to get a shooter for naomi and I wanted to know what the best one is, any thoughts?

By horizontal, do you mean horizontally scrolling, or just orientation of the display? Border Down doesn't have much competition in the horizontally scrolling department when it comes to the Naomi.

It really is a game you either love or simply don't. It's hard as fuck and the scoring system is one of the deepest ever in a shooter. So, for some, it can actually be... not fun. You just have to play it to find out which group you fall into.

My advice would be not to get a game just because you don't feel like rotating the monitor, if such is the case ;) but Border Down is a must own either way.

Dreamcast version is undoubtedly better though.

It's got both the arcade and 'remix' mode...plus the replays of each stage found in the options menu, etc.

Border Down is great but don't forget about Zero Gunner 2 which is also a 'horizontal monitor' shooter.
