Hello,

I was wondering if this would work. If I took the 3,4,5 7,8,9 wires from a CPS-1 kick harness and spliced them into the P1 3 kick and P2 3 kick wires on a CPS-2 kick harness...this way I wouldnt have to run a new wire from my cps1 board to my control pannel(joysticks/cherry switches), and I could leve both kick harnesses plugged in all the time and would just have to switch the jamma cable.

I don't know the exact pins off the top of my head...but your general idea would work. I rigged st-v kick buttons right off the board and up to my cps2 cab and it works perfectly. Not too pretty, but it works. I bet you could mod a cheap cps2 kick button harness pretty easily. IMO, if it's just for fighters, get the cps2 kick harness with only the kick buttons, as there's no need for all the extra wires on the FULLY wired cps2 kick harness (which has 3rd/4th player buttons etc)

just get the simple one...

^^I know that's not exactly what you are doing...but it just shows that the 6 wires are switchable with other boards. So, you are just a small kick harness mod away from doing what you want.

Ok now for the second part of my question...

How can I tell on the cps2 kick harness which wires are the actual kick wires? My cab is big so it came in two pieces so there is a conector that connects the two ends of the wires down in the base so it could be shipped...unfortunatly the colors of the wires do not match. I know with cars there is some sort of voltage tester that if you touch a live wire it will light up, is there a way that I can use this or another way to figure out which wires I want w/out pulling my cab apart again?
