Is it possible? (Stick question)

Is it possible to put A sanwa stick in A pelican real arcade or are the sanwa's too short?

It's possible, but you will have to carefully chisel away some of the wood. Or take a dremel and chisel away the wood that way. After that it's up to you how high or low you want the Stick Shaft to be. The Stick Shaft is too short as is, without any modding.

One more thing if your using a Sanwa Stick with the Metal Plate, you might be able to line up the stick with the pre-drilled holes. Without the plate, you will have to make new holes. Never tryed it, so this is just a guess.

If you decide to go forward with this, post some pics. I've been wanting to attempt this myself. But I would have to get a hold of a dremel. Just being lazy.

I'm thinking about doing this with one of the new Pelican sticks and a ball top J-Stick from Ultimarc. I originally planned to just swap to a Happ Competition but after playing with a Sanwa stick, I've decided I like those much better.

What kind of adjustments will I need to make to the wood? Will I need to make it thinner to raise the height of the stick or make the hole larger (or both)?

Has anyone done this yet?

You will have to make the wood thinner.

Edit: I am not familiar with the J sticks form Untimarc, if the stick is as small as a Sanwa, then yes you will have to make the wood thinner.

Hmmm ... from looking at the diagrams, it definitely seems a bit shorter. Unfortunately, none of the diagrams show the length between the ball and base.

This review has me a little confused, though. There's a pic of both a competition and J-Stik, wood mounted right next to each other and there's not much height difference. They show a bat-top stick but there's only 1/8" difference between it and the ball top (so 3/8" difference between it and the competition).

I guess I'm probably just going to have to order it and see how it looks in person.
