So at the moment I am trying to sort myself out with a candy cab with a vert monitor to play shooters.

I was thinking that a Jap Naomi would suit me well as it has a tri resolution monitor and is JVS so its future proof and with a Jamma convertor should be ok to play all my older stuff.

Anyway, Naomis are very expensive and a Jap one is tricky to get so I was wondering what other cabs might be suitable. I gather that the options are:

-Naomi Universal
-Konami Windy
-Taito Egret 3

Any other suggestions?

The egret is a nice cab, but it's shape makes it a little awkward to sit at. They are very attractive cabs though, and the over all look and layout is nice. One of the main things to remember, though, when you are looking at candies is that the size does come at a price. Sure, they do take up less room, but they can be a little difficult for 2 players, especially if you have some bigger friends. Still, for an apartment they are more than ideal. Some of the SEGA candies (other than the Naomi cab) are also very nice, like the Aerocity.

Thanks guys...

I really like the Egret but my wife won't have one in the house so thats out! Also it only does 15Khz (same with the Astro).

My wife prefers the Egret 3 but I suspect they will be expensive, also do the Egret 2 and 3 have easily rotatable monitors?
