Ok i've been thinking it over and i have decided to include a poll, albeit a very simple one.
What i am suggesting is this:
password protection on three areas:
1.General
2.Market
3.Systems
The others will have direct access or "public access" as per usual.
Those 3 areas will not be able to be viewed or posted on untill they have a password.
Implementation:
For existing users they simply need to be mass mailed a password
For new users they will have to email a webcam picture of themselves holding a neo game (aes,mvs,cd) for those who do not have a webcam or do not wish to provide a picture they simply reply back with a message containing a few games they own,their favorite games etc etc,this could be a "subject to approval" basis.
However they will not be allowed to apply untill they have posted atleast 30 posts in the unrelated or other areas (warroom will not count)
again could be subject to approval,when a request is made their 30 posts could be quickly viewed for behaviour.
There are disadvantages of this,mainly in that many including web admin and mods might consider it too much work or too harsh including members.
However i think it will cut down on people just dropping in or not in it for the long term,exclusive romz users and sellers should not be made welcome,and people who have no interest in neo-geo should not be posting replys in any shape or form in the 3 areas mentioned above.
It would make it more exclusive to the subject line of the forum: neo-geo.
The password idea is not meant to offend anyone,but simply say "this is a site for neo-geo owners, if you have no interest in neo geo there are many other forums out there"
The dedicated will accept the password terms,while the spammers,romz users and undedicated may skip this site and go elsewhere.
