I've been playing kof 2k2 online the last couple of days. It's really fun. I've talked to so many strange japanese otaku. Most are really really good, and the atmosphere is just great. Everyone hangs out in the lobby and talks about shermie. Its great. I cant wait for the rest of the world to get online with this.

well for a start i dont have an xbox but that doesnt really matter
but i have played KOF2K2 on the DC and it was pretty good except for some sound issuses it was fine ...if only there was a way to play online

Sorry I dont know about the region. Im playing the japnaese version on a japanese xbox. I havent seen any non Japanese or HK players, so I assume its not region free.

Please someone anyone find out if it's region free. I haven't had a chance to play Live in months, but my job can go to hell if there is online '02.

Thats a good question. I thought everybody would be using Chris, cause his combos are really strong and difficult to read. In the game centers around here most people used him.

But the little lag present kind of kills his effectiveness, so people are just using the characters they like. The lag isnt bad, and I had a few lag free matches with people that have the same kind of adsl as I do.

I've fought the rank three guy a lot online, he uses mostly everyone. A lot of Vanessa, Ramon, Clark, just about everyone.

So far the community is great. For the first time a lot of japanese palyers are using the mic and just talking about kof. I was getting drunker than hell and just rambling on about shermies boobs, but it was a lot of fun.

The game gives you a rank, the highest I saw was rank 23. The rank changes a lot, I keep wavering from 1 to 4. My record sucks online, but its so much fun.

So no combo packages with 2k2/2k3 then for the xbox, interesting.

How much does 2k2 run compared to other titles in Japan?

Sure thing. This game is going to be great... Now that I think about it, have we ever played 3S? I know your brother whooped my ass in SVC a buch of times, but I don't think I've seen either of you on 3S. I took a couple weeks away from Live, because I was spending too much time on it and letting work pile up, but the 2 weeks turnd into a couple months. I can't wait to get back on.

I bought the game new for 4200 yen. Most games new are 6000 yen. I forgot to mention one big problem about the game. The sound is terrible. The effects and music sound really bad. I just keep it all turned down and pump up "Dragon Force"!

Plus the 3d backgrounds completely suck. they look half assed and dumb. I just keep it on old skool settings.

Those are the only negative aspects of the game.

I play 3S a lot. More for fun than rank. I'm decent just ask butta, fats or Milkman ;)

Sheeit. Cam will hand you your ass in CVS2 but its actually fun to play him in 3S. ;)

Eh, I'm not great -- mostly mediocre in everything. I never got to play against Butta because we could never get a connection, but I'd say Fats is slightly better than me in 3S, to give you an idea. Like you, I play for fun. So I don't mind getting stompped by people like SonGohan, heh heh.

i'll definitely give '02 a shot when it comes out here.
question for you RBJ: how is the input lag (a friend was showing me in the ps2 version how you could perform the joystick motion for a move, wait a relatively long time compared to mvs/aes, then hit the button and still have the move come out). does this happen with the xbox version as well?

I fell victim to the Urien juggles a while ago to cam347. He is definitely more than decent.

Very fun, you'd be surprised how many people bitch when you beat them w/ Q
