Why wont my older US AES play some Japanese carts. Its an older US aes that I bought from MAS systems and I cant get it to play Jap.KoF96 and SS3.It has a switch on the back that allows the blood and cutoff features that are present in the Jap. versions to be played in US aes versions but for whatever reason wont play those 2 games. Any suggestions?

ok well heres my suggestion have you tried runnign the carts in a JAP AES console? or a newer console?

the carts might be dead or something if u havent tried them in another system before hand

When you try ether cart on this AES..what do you see on screen..?

I always go with the : Maybe Dirty Cart connectors or AES connectors..Try giving them a good cleaning..

Also pull the carts out of the AES slightly..

I can't link you to the Hard MVS cleaning methods right now..it seems several parts of the site are down..

Check back there later..

I sold the US version and was using a Jap. AES for myself and all the carts worked fine in my Jap AES then I traded the old one (U.S.) to the local gamestore and the old Jap carts just dont seem to work as I suggested all the carts be cleaned to the kid who bought it and he said none of the suggestions worked.I'll have to get the system back to see exactly wtf is going on.

Those systems will only run those games in home mode. Push the black switch in at boot up and it should work. They use a old version of Debug bios that nobody uses anymore, so a solution to fix the problem is installing unibios.

Yeah, that definitely sounds like a problem with the mod that you've got. Does it give you some kind of message about only being able to play the game on authentic MVS hardware? It could be dirty contacts on the carts that your trying to play, but it sounds like the mod is the thing causing the problem.

I'd have a unibios 2.0 installed - it's a much better option anyway.
