Just because you say you can't afford a videogame dosen't give you the right (or excuse) to go and copy it.
You arn't allowed to steal cars just because you cant afford one.
You arnt allowed to nick an expensive telly just because you cant afford one.
And the same applies to videogames, music and everything else.
The only reason people seem fine with pirating stuff is because they see it as a 'victimless' crime - in that they arn't physically stealing something, just making a copy of it. But you are still doing the videogames industry out of money it rightfully deserves, and could use towards.......making better games.
Oh and that bollocks about games not being worth £40 (or $50) just dosent wash.
£40 for 20-ish hours of entertainment is better than any DVD, and better than going to the cinema, so you are getting your moneys worth.
There is no 'refuse to buy' here, there is only 'knows he can get it for nowt so dosent want to buy'.Decepticon said:Ok Pirate A wants the newest Windows but refuses to buy it and is considering Linux (so no money made for MS)
Pirate B gives A hisoriginal XP cd and A copies and uses it
If Pirate A never intended to purchase said software to begin with then tell me how the company is out a sale?
(and for the record in 4 years I have bought windows XP thrice)
