I turned on my raiden 2 this morning and the graphics are corrupted, that if you can call them graphics, squares running vertically up the screen, no sound.

There is a lithium battery on the board, could this be the problem, allthough i am pretty sure it is used to save high scores. I have checked the board for physical problems, even tried re-seating the roms. this is an original 1993 seibu board.
Can anyone help??

The board runs fine without the battery, its for the ram back up for high scores.
Sounds like you have corrupt gfx rom(s) you could program a set of eproms from mame, strange how the sound is also effected ?
Is the 5 volts at the jamma edge connect OK

the jamma edge all seems fine, from the speakers the game makes an odd 'swoop' type sound when i turn it off :spock: It hasnt been knocked about either, usually in the games there is some gfx even if the roms are corrupted, if only showing a ram test.
