No arcades in Plymouth  apart from a shitty megabowl mini-arcade with no decent games and NO NEO-GEO MVS!.
Plymouth is so technologically impaired.

Arcades seem to be in severe decline throughout the U.S. I live in Colorado, and there isn't a decent arcade outside of the Denver Metro area that I can think of. There's a little hole-in-the-wall type place in my local mall, but the only thing anyone plays in there is DDR. It's literally only half the size it used to be, back in the mid '90s, and they sold off most of their decent cabs a few years ago. It's really too bad; I have fond memories of pouring quarters into TMNT and Pit Fighter (yes, Pit Fighter) at the same place back in the day, and now it's almost empty. :crying:

I have many arcades located within 2hrs from me, this include:
~Solano County Tilt Mall (Lots of comp)
~Sunnyvale Golfland (Lots of comp)
~Sacramento
Colorado must just suck. Besides Dave and Busters in Westminster, I can't think of a decent place to go to play new arcade releases.

Arcade I work in is for the most part 'old-school' and yes...there's some Neo-Geo love in there too :D

NO arcades here except for in movie theatres. This would be dominated by whatever crappy 3D games are out, DDR games, and 1 or 2 old games like galaga and ms. pac-man. There was an awesome arcade on the corner of euclid and rose street in lexington ky. They have a ton of old games, and it's very smoky and i think they sell beer too. Not bad in general. lots of older arcade games that bring back good memories.

There used to be good arcades in the UK, now they have stupid chavs jumping on DDR machines, or lightgun games with badly calibrated guns. If you DO find some decent games, the sticks or buttons wont work, or the bloody thing steals your cash!!! The best arcade is MY home arcade collection ;) No beggars, chavs or other scum, and FREEPLAY All day! :)

You know... I would like to start up an arcade someday... I have the perfect location in mind (which has been vacant for about seven years now). The major problems I have with arcades nowadays are a). the prices... good greif... why should anyone have to pay 75cents or more to play cruisin' usa, and b). the lack of actual arcade machines... most "arcades" around so-cal are computer labs, not arcades... you should need an arcade machine to be called an arcade. My arcade would be an actual arcade that charges ONE quarter per play on all games... I think I would still have a ddr game or two still though... since they ARE sorta popular, and I would have to make money... speaking of money... that's my main problem... I don't really have any... If anyone would like to donate a few million dollars to me, I'd get a SUPER-ARCADE going... but... until anyone does donate a few million dollars to me... or I win the lotto... it's going to have to be just a dream...

Not quite the worst game EVER.
While it is bad [especially now, I picked up the PCB a couple years ago and thought "whoah! I spent money on THIS?" Wasn't as cool as I remembered] But when it came out it was pretty cool and easy to play as a kid, a button-masher with cool graphics for the time and half-naked women...'nuff said.
edit: has anyone played Guardians of the Hood??? I picked up the PCB off ebay, but it didn't work. It looked like it played like a scrolling beat-em-up, if this is true I may try to get a working PCB.

Though not a sequel, Guardians of the Hood is very similar in looks and game play to Pit-Fighter. One-on-one battles and once certain enemies are beaten, you can choose them to be your fighters. A step up from Pit-Fighter but not much IMO ;)

Sacramento has arcades? I thought it was just cows and open fields.
Quite a few arcades, but all of them pretty much suck. Modern day arcades just don't have that magic anymore. Plus no arcade that I know of has an "active community" anymore with regulars/good competition.
Maybe a bit north up in LA though, those circles still exist.

Easy now peeps,
It is a shame that arcades are going out. Cant belive it, many a time when I was growing up in Cyprus I could be found with a pocket full of tokens, a sexy woman by my side and a coffee frappae with ice. Mmmmm, the good old days. Now its so hard to find a good one. Not only that they take the piss and charge you a bundle for a few mins of play cos they got the game on super hard or they give you fuck all lives. Bastards!!
Anyone played silent scope? The one when you can win money, I just love that game.

Peace out bumba
