I got this buyer who hasn't paid me in 3 days. No response to emails I've sent. I clearly list that the buyer has 72 hours to deliver payment, unless otherwise notified. The really frustrating thing is this fucker used "Buy It Now!" It wasn't a "mistake," he or she delibrately bought the item and then never paid me?! WTF!

How have you handled cases in the past like this? This is my first problem ever like this on eBay.

For future reference:

Ebay just started the IMMEDIATE PAYMENT REQUIRED button for BIN.. use it.

Email them, tell them they have 48 more hours and if not relist and NEG them.

Try to minimalize the time spent with deadbeat bidders...block'em, relist, and move on.

Instead, invest that time you would have spent chasing their payment into providing better service to those who do pay and follow your rules.

I just avoid all that shit now.
If they can't comply with my terms and conditions then they can't have the goods.

List with Buy It Now with Intermediate Paypal Payment....this then takes them straight to the paypal website where they pay and they don't close the auction untill that is complete.

2 bonuses about that method, 1 is that you get what you expect from the item i.e. you want $300 for your ipod and thats what you list it for....and 2 you don't get timewasters.

A Little tip though.....ask for verified paypal members with verified addresses, over the 3 years of using paypal I just got ripped off with $40 from an unverified paypal user, so now im very wary with these unverfied users.

Take that as expert advice, so far im not doing bad, and if you don't sell the item the first time you relist it at cost but ebay refund the listing fee's second time around, also a good oprtunity to just lower your cost abit to get a bite.

Anyway, thats my guide to avoid deadbeat bidders.

Yeah, Ebay has had the Immediate payment required for over a year....

I'd recomend usingit if your BIN is a reasonable price. My Bins are usualy about 10% cheaper than what I would expect to get in a regular acution. Even with imediate payent required, Most of my BIN items sell within 48 hours.

Most of my NPD's were from BIN items before i started to regularly use Imediate payment required.

- wait 7 days (unfortunately it's eBay allowed time for payment)
- file non-paying bidder
- wait another 7 days (damn that eBay process sucks) for the guy to never respond
- leave NEGATIVE Feedback
- relist

You can even relist after the first 7 days if you want.

AND use Immediate Payment for BIN - the only downside is that it is impossible to combine shipping when using immediate payment, therefore pissing off people who want to BIN on several of your stuff (eBay need to fix that).

I'm sort of in the middle of a minor ($50) ebay situation, but I have a feeling it's the damned post office's fault. :oh_no:
