Today I noticed a burned image of a CN logo
which is a Cartoon Network logo and I just
beat Ys: The Ark of Napishtim for my PS2
today around about 3:35 pm. At the end
screen which was a white color and a burned
image of a CN logo which shouldn't be there at
all and I leave my games on which doesn't leave
any burned images at all. I think the Cartoon
Network channel had burned a image on my big
screen TV which is driving me crazy. Do I need to
replace it as soon as the TV wears out?. The image
wasn't there yesterday while watching TV though.

Why don't they make a light weight 52-inch tube
monitor so burned images won't show up which
would be a lot better. I just bought it last year at
Fry's Electronics that was on sale but I really wanted
to buy a Super Nova Arcade System first but my mom's
boyfriend said to get the big TV first and I had about
$300 saved up & he paid the rest of the TV for me.

I wanted my own TV because I got tired of borrowing his
regular 32-inch tube TV & I always wanted a big screen
TV that my real dad never even tried to get me one.

My video games never leave burned images even if I
leave my games on for a long time or I sometimes just
put the regular TV stations on & watch either cartoons
or movies. I really hope that the G4 logo doesn't leave
a burned image on my TV. :(

Any suggestions?. :help: :help:

Boog did your Mom get a warranty with it, when she bought it? And let me guess it's a plasma isn't it.

What sort of big screen is it? Regular CRT based projection? LCD, DLP or Plasma?

I am guessing its a CRT projection set. Sadly, there isn't much you can do to fix it.

Its pretty common to have burn in on those types of sets from static images off many tv network channels. My folks big screen (also CRT projection) has a lovely burned in image in the lower right hand corner from all the war coverage early last year.

IF you are wanting to replace it, I would suggest DLP or LCD projection. Neither suffer from burn in and should offer a sharper, superior picture to most CRT projection sets.

I'll have to ask what kind it is & maybe I can email
or put pics on NG.com. So either a DLP or a LCD
projection would be better and how much do they
cost?. :D :kekeke:

My mom's boyfriend said he had gotten a warranty
on the 52-inch TV. :D :kekeke:

Does $800.00 mean it was a cheap made Toshiba
big screen TV?. I can't afford the better expensive
type that doesn't leave burned images. :(

If it's a projection TV, then you should never play games on it. Back when big screen projection TV's were new, my father's repair man scolded me for playing video games on it. I ruined the TV. I didn't know projection TV's were still available. From my undstanding LCD's and PLasma's are OK.

My video games never give me any burned images. :D
It was the Cartoon Network logo that caused a burned
image which really makes me so damn! mad & I was
enjoying movies & video games but now I should
just sell my 52-inch projection TV which I spent about
$300 & my mom's boyfriend paid the rest for me and
starting April which will be my final payment too. :D

So LCD and Plasma TV's don't get any burned images
like projection TV's?. How much do LCD or Plasma TV's
cost?.

I wish that I was rich which would make me a lot
happier since I don't have a girlfriend. :kekeke:

Even rich crips get a girlfriend, they go hand in hand (money, Girlfriends)...

Don't buy Big screen TV's they are a waste of money...

How bad is the burn in?

Can you see it on dark backgrounds or all the time?

I suggest just taping a picture of Anna Paquin in the corner and leaving it at that.

Don't leave the cartoon network on all night.

Alot of money. The best and safest route would be to get a Flat Screen. If your not anal any flat screen should do. At least any name brand. An LCD TV will run you about $500 to $1000 and Plasma's are $1000 to $10,000.

A flat screen tube TV should last a very long time. Go to Walmart, there cheaper than a TV specialty store, and they carry name brands now. Also check BestBuy. If you have an adverstisement they will price match any store. Fry's electronics are OK, but their sales men are not that smart. Only go to Fry's if you know exactly what you want. If you have the money for it, Fry's carries alot of LCD TV's.

I wonder if I can sell my 52-inch Toshiba TV for about
$500 to get a flat big screen TV. Do they make
52-inch flat screen TV's?. Oh my 52-inch cost about
$1100 at Fry's Electronics last year & if I have a
warranty maybe they will trade me a 52-inch flat
screen LCD TV for the same price I hope. :D :kekeke:

It is very annoying to see that image burn even
while playing video games or watching movies &
it just bothers me to much and I want to enjoy
a nice TV because I don't get out much & also
being disabled & I wish that I could go out more
but I can't. :( :D

Thanks for the info. :kekeke: :kekeke:

Spend $500-600 (open box display unit!!!) on a nice 36'' flat screen crt.
mmm...
i still wouldn't go for an lcd, dlp or plasma set for gaming, seeing as most of the games we enjoy (older games) are 4:3, and seeing the mini-4:3 image on a giant 16:9 screen is disheartening. if you really want bigger than 36'' pick up a dlp or lcd projector and screen.
though i've never found 36'' too small for anything but that "theater" experience

Some Best Buy stores will let you do that, if you buy there warranty. But play stupid when you go to turn in your warranty. Act like you didn't know what the hell happened to it, and what ever you do don't tell them you have been playing video games on it.

I don't really have much more to add to this thread, except this: Don't buy a Plasma if you plan on playing video games on it. Or other things with a lot of static (non moving) images on it.

Plasma sets are still vulnerable to burn in. Though Plasma technology has been improving over the last couple years, it still isn't perfect.

Personally, for your needs, I would suggest a large CRT based set, like a 36 or 40 inch (if anyone still sells one). IF you need a big screen, go DLP or LCD projection. Though at that point you are looking at a widescreen set instead of a regular 4x3 set and those sets would probably display a 4x3 picture at the same size as a large tube CRT anyways.
