so.. why did they decide to take the fun out of this series then?

before .. I could assemble a bad ass hunter and start slaying stuff with a cheap ass sword.. but no

NOW I have to battle with cards.. and every battle (even with a rag rappy) takes 35-50minutes.

? :spock:

they would take 2 hits of a sword.. 3 seconds to kill normally.. and now its 50 minutes?

talk about 'slowing the action down'

I'd rather gouge out my eyes with my gamecube broadband adatptor than pay to play this online.. jeeesus.

dissapointment 50000 - ruined the series

Episode IV will be on the PC version known as Blue Burst, and will be like the originals.
But yeah, they fucked up royally. No one in the Yu-Gi-Oh set gives a shit about PSO, and vice-versa. That shit should have been a brand-new from the ground up game built on the Cube hardware in the vein of Episode I & II.

Yeah, I still remember the day it was announced before E3 a couple years ago.
I read the press release a few times just to be sure, and then commiserated with my fellow PSO addicts. Such a shame.

I'm tempted to get the PC version so I can see the all-new content of Episode IV.

The C.A.R.D. battle game is actually pretty decent, if you like card games. If you don't, then it is not going to change your mind. Sega shouldn't have called it PSO but I find the game to be a decent change of pace.

Yep. I found it a pretty nice card battle system. But like you said, if you don't like card battle games, this game wont change your mind. It is rather neat how they developed two entirely different card systems, with different base strategies; and kept them relatively balanced to each other. Relatively. So I can't say that they didn't put a lot of thought and heart into the technical crafting, of the game. Adding a story also helps a little (but technically, still a backseat to the gameplay). But in a way, I think the idea was that Episode III brought in a new gamestyle because Episode I and II were supposed to be self-expanding. That is, not requiring a sequel to be produced, for a while. Action players would've stuck with Episode I and II and got their years out of it, which would avoid the sports-like yearly release.
